Clarity of menu font and symbols in CS6

I use the lightest interface in CS6 and I notice that the symbols and labelling fonts are less clear and black in CS6 compared to CS5.  I assume that this is not intended.  It would be good if Adobe (or anyone else) could check this, please.  My eyes are not new and may be deceiving me - here are the toolboxes side by side.

I find the CS5 symbols and fonts much easier to read.  Please can the magicians at Adobe give me my old CS5 fonts and symbols back in CS6.  Hopefully, there is still time.

Lenovo Thinkpad T420 graphics hardware not supported

Hi,

 

I'm running 64bit Windows 7 on a Lenovo Thinkpad T420 laptop (currently the given laptops for RPI) with the PS CS6 trial. Both the 64bit and 32bit versions of it give the "Photoshop detected graphics hardware that is not officially supported. If you experience problems, please uncheck the Use Graphics Processor checkbox in the Performance panel of the Preferences dialog." popup that appears on opening. Photoshop runs fine until I try to use Oil Paint, which gives "The filter you were using encountered an unknown graphics processor error that caused an unexpected exit. Check the manufacturer's website for the latest software."

My GPU, etc. are all updated as of earlier today. I understand if beta software doesn't support every single chip and processor ever released to mankid; still, the majority of people at my university use the T420s, so it would be a bit of a pain for everyone to be incapable of fully using CS6 once it comes out.

CS6 Installation on Lion 10.7.3 Fails - ASU Quit Unexpectedly

I'm going to post this again, because Adobe needs to be aware of the problem.  Installation on 10.7.3 for Photoshop CS6 is now consistently failing with the following error:

 

Exit Code: 15

- 0 fatal error(s), 1 error(s), 1 warning(s)

 

ERROR: ASU has quit unexpectedly.

WARNING: User opted to Cancel the install

Photoshop CS6 Beta doesn't remove vector outlines on shapes

In CS5 you were able to click on a selected vector layer to remove a vector outline from a vector shape.  This is important when adding strokes, dropshadows or generally doing any type of design on a vector shape. However, in CS6 Beta you can no longer click a selected vector shape again to remove the vector outline.  You must swap over to the paths palette and deselect the currently selected path and then swap back to the layers palette making it a very tedious process.

 

Reproduce:

1.  Create a new 500x500px document and fill with black

2.  Create a grey rounded rectangle with the rounded rectangle tool

3.  Make sure the grey rounded rectangle is selected.

4. Click the rounded rectangle layer in the layers palette.

 

Expected Results:

Clicking the layer after it has been selected should remove the vector outline from the shape so it can be styled/filled/etc without an artifical outline.

 

Actual Results:

The vector outline remains on the shape.  The only way to remove the outline is to swap over to the paths palette and deselect the currently selected path.

Analysis menu

I note in Photoshop CS6 beta the Analysis menu is gone or, at least I can't find it.

 

Has it been removed permanently or just from the Beta release?

 

Any ideas

Hi, is Nvidia SLI supported? I have ASUS Nvidia 275 GTX, and would like to buy another one (used of course). Will CS6 benefit from 2 cards in SLI?

how does one transfer CS5 actions for use with CS6?

CS6 installation, which was uneventful, has transferred none of my actions from my copy of CS5. The CS5 actions are located in the actions folder of the APPLICATION/PHOTOSHOP CS5/PRESETS/ACTIONS.  The "actions" folder in application support/adobe in my library is empty, and has always been so.

 

Only the CS6 default actions are located in the same folder for CS6.

 

I use imac i7, lion.

 

Note that i also have CS3 and CS4 on my machine. This due to recent upgrade to CS5 and recent upgrade to LION, and my general paranoia.

 

Must i load each action into CS6, one at a time?

Arrange Documents button missing?

The Arrange Documents button appears to be missing in CS6, is there a way to turn it back on?  The work-around of turning off open images in tabs is more cumbersome and takes up additional screen space.

Image reduction (200px --> 100px) causes program error

"Could not complete the Image Size command because of a program error" is the error I get.. I've got a 200px .psd file (created with cs5.5 extended) and reducing it to 100px borks.  Enlarging it worked though...

"Could not complete the Save command..." Arrrggghh.

Hello.

 

I have been building panos in Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5 for many moons with no problems.

 

Tonight, I switched over to begin testing with Lightroom 4 and PS CS6beta. The pano built no problem, but I can't save it. Everytime I try to save, I get this error: "Could not complete the Save command because the document is currently being saved in the background. Please try the operation again after the save has been completed."

 

I can do all other tasks, but as soon as I try to save, I get the above error. Meanwhile, in both the top tab and the bottom tab, there is an indicator that reads, "Saving 0%". And unlike Indesign CS5, I can find no Background Process monitor.

 

I spent several hours building this pano and it appears that I am going to have to force quit and lose all of my work.

 

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

 

Regardless, I am going back to CS5. With beta, you get what you paid for I suppose, so I can't really get mad. I would just think that Adobe would be a bit more buttoned up. Perhaps that's why this beta is public and good for 60 days. Maybe there are too many issues going on; they can't figure them out and thus need to crowdsource.

OS X 10.7.3 "Installation Failed"

Haven't been able to install the "Adobe Photoshop CS6 beta" (photoshopcs6_p1_mac_032112.dmg) but have tried the following:

- Downloaded it 4 times from 4 different networks.

- Launched the installer from the original download folder.

- Unpacked the installer and launched it from a desktop folder.

- Updated my "Adobe Application Manager" within "Applications/Utilities/Adobe Application Manager/core/..." (6.0.236.0).

- I'd love to provide the installer log but there's nada within my log folders:

("my harddrive" / Library / Logs / Adobe / Installers / ...no CS6 .log.gz file)

("account name on computer / Library / Logs / Adobe / Installers / empty directory)

- Sacrificed a chicken over the trackpad to promote "initialization" stability.

- Disabled various fonts...just cause.

- Repaired Disk Permissions

- Definately restarted several times in advance of new installation attemtps.

 

User profile:

OS X 10.7.3

Processor: 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Currently running various CS5 products

 

Knowing that, I'm completely open to suggestions -and ready to go Terminal Mode is necessary.

Why fonts are no longer usable

Hi,

 

In CS5withafontI use(free) "MyriadPro" foundinwww, itworks perfectlyand I have myPSD filewithlots of textwiththisfont.

InCS6 (same PSD file), I havean error messageand offers mean font alternative!

- Why?
- Why is myfont "MyriadPro" is set (in CS6 only) in brackets"[" and"]"?

Photoshop CS6 Extended Beta Sign In problem

I have downloaded and Installed the Photoshop CS6 Extended Beta, however there is a problem when I try to sign in. Here's my detailed summary of what happens:

 


- I press the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Icon in my menu bar.

- This opens a window which its Title says 'Sign in required', and below it  'Please sign in with your Adobe ID to use your trial of Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended.'

- I press the 'Sign in now' button at the bottom right of the window.

- The window changes into a darker shade of grey while there is a dark circular loading wheel at the place where the button was.

- The window stops loading and this appears: ' Please connect to the Internet and retry' and a paragraph which follows 'Either your computer is offline or the clock on your computer is set incorrectly, causing a connection error. An Internet connection is required. Please connect to the internet or adjust your clock and try again. If this problem persists, please contact Customer Support.'

- There are now two buttons in the bottom right corner of the window. 'Cancel' or 'Retry'

 

I have retried many many times with this same error always occuring. I have synced my clock, I have made sure i'm connected to the Internet, I just dont know what to do anymore.

Undocked/untabbed window snaps to top of screen

Hi. I just installed the CS6 beta and the first (and so far only) thing that happens is that when I drag an image window and release it, it always snaps to the top of the screen and sits on top of the menu. If I zoom in/out it snaps to sit below the menu, but it's still an awkward position to work with.

 

I assume this is a bug, but is there a workaround that lets me test the other functions?

I cannot sign in to Adobe Photoshop CS6

I cannot sign in to Adobe Photoshop. I have installed it twice, restarted my pc a couple of time but every time I come to the sign in， the busy icon at the bottom of the sign in screen runs and the sign in form greys out a little, but no sign in text box appears. It just comes up with an error to say that my clock is set wrong and that my permanent-on internet is not on.

I have leftovers from CS6 release version all over the place. Deleted them manually as best I could both in my folders (program files and programs files x86) and searched for registry files as well, but the Beta installer still detects the prerelase version. I'm on Win 7 64-bit. Anybody gotta a similar experience? Or solution? Please help? Thanks!

 

I get this message: A conflicting or prerelease version of Adobe Photoshop CS6 exists on this computer. The conflicting version must be removed before installing from a current media.

Content aware fill, fills with black'ish color but not content "CS6 beta"

Hi guys,

 

I am working on a pano, which i am rotating and straighting, the idea being to use content aware fill to fill in the gap in the sky. However, when I apply the Content aware fill, I am getting a darkish block of color where i had done my marque selection.

 

Hopefully this is visable in the image attached

I am not sure if its because of the size of the image (approx 150x30in @ 300dpi) 2.8gb. but i have 96gb of ram so that shouldn't be an issue.

 

anyway, i thought id share this and hopefully also find a solution

Where is 'actions' stored in CS6 beta

Where is 'actions' stored, I want to transfer my new once from my Desktop (Mac Pro) to my Laptop (MacBookPro). But I can not find them, and can not find any 'Save actions' ether.

 

Have been looking under

/Users/me/Library/Application support/Adobe/Photoshop CS6/Presets/Actions

/Library/Application support/Adobe

 

And searched for .atn files, but nothing.

Why can't I view CR2 files in Bridge from the 5D Mark III

Just upgraded my camera to the Canon 5D Mark III - I upgraded to PS5 and now have the plug in for Camera Raw 6.7 so I can open my files.  BUT, I only see CR2 icons in Bridge (customer service promised me I could see images in Bridge).  What can I do to change this?  It is really hurting my workflow as I tag/choose my images in Bridge prior to opening in RAW.  Thanks!

Clone Stamp Tool and smudge tool issue

iMac 21.5";   new on 12/14/2011;   OS Version 10.7.3;  2.7GHz Intel Core i5;  AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB.

 

Two and Three Layer, all layers are copies of background layer, plus two adjustment layers, 8 Bit file:

 

Clone Stamping directly on image layer with Background layer directly below and with copy of Background layer directly below.

 

Intuos 4 tablet and pen.

 

Clone Stamp tool Setup:

 

Layer Adjustment parameter set to either This Layer and Below or All Layers.

All other parameters at default.

Using simple soft brush.

=====================================

 

 

 

The bug: Clone Stamp too will only affect the layer selected to do the actual cloning.

 

Tried it in every configuation possible without adjust the tool defaults, and no layers below will get the cloning corrections or stamping.
